Kode | You’re a workhorse! What are you working on right now?

Tinashe | I’m currently focused on touring, but I have been busy working on music in my available time.

Kode | Who’s currently in your music circle for upcoming projects?

Tinashe | Hit boy, boi1da, Max Martin, Nic Nac

Kode | We know you’ve always had an unwavering faith in yourself and your career. How do you channel that confidence to stay true to you?

Tinashe | I think it comes from never allowing myself to have a “plan b.” To me, that’s just like a way out. Failure is not an option for me.

Kode | What’s been the most validating moment in your career thus far?

Tinashe | Hmmm recently, getting chosen personally by Janet Jackson to participate in her tribute at the BET awards. 🙌🏽

Kode | What do you do to continue to grow as an artist?

Tinashe | I try to be surrounded by positive energy and things that inspire me. It’s important to not get burnt out due to all of the hard work that goes into it and take the time to enjoy your experiences.

Kode | When you’re writing, what comes first? Song titles, melodies, music?

Tinashe | Usually music, then melodies.

Kode | You’ve mentioned there’s a lot of room for more female artists in the industry. Is there any up and coming artists you’re keeping up with?

Tinashe | The Internet has a new album out called “Ego Death” that I loooooove .

Kode | How do you want to be remembered?

Tinashe | I want to be remembered as someone who inspires young people to make their own dreams possible.

Kode | Words to live by?

Tinashe | Don’t wait for anyone to make things happen for you. Go out there and make it happen yourself.
