Kode | Tell us a little about yourself for everyone know that doesn’t know.
Pierson | Contrary to popular belief and Wikipedia I am not 24 years old. I’m actually 23
Kode | When beginning your acting career, what were some of your major fears?
Pierson | My biggest fear was making mistakes. I’m a perfectionist so it’s hard to let go and judge oneself. I’ve come to the realization that mistakes are what make performances and life unique. So now I’m fighting my inner perfectionist with my unique differences which make me who I am. Mainly because I’m pretty weird and I want to keep it that way.
Kode | How did you get your start in acting, was it something you’ve always dreamed of.
Pierson | Being a part of the film and entertainment industry was what I’ve wanted since I knew I wanted anything. The way I got my start began with me stealing my parents old black and white video camera (which used VHS tapes) and filming these perfectly strange videos of myself and all my friends back on the farm. It then evolved into an unquenchable need to get to LA and create films and tell stories. Full submersion with no plan B.
Kode | Being sorta new to the acting world, where do you see your career going in the next 5 years?
Pierson | 5 years from now I see myself writing, directing and producing films and original content that i create with my own team. I’ve already begun this process and when the time is right I will release the kraken! Also become superman once Henry Cavill is ready to pass the torch. Along with any other superhero or villain I can nab.
Kode | We are extremely excited to see your new film, Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, Tell us more about your character and the film?
Pierson | I can’t wait for everyone to see Naomi and Elys No Kiss List! Ely is is a guy after my own heart. Super fun, never takes himself too seriously, and is trying to get everyone to do the same. His best friend in the world is Naomi and unfortunately she’s in love with him while he’s in love with boys. It’s a coming of age story full of modern day complicated love and we have to navigate through it.
Kode | How was it being on set with your girlfriend and co-star Victoria Justice, especially since you played the character of her GBF (Gay Best Friend.)
Pierson | I actually had no idea who Victoria was until we met and began reading lines together. It wasn’t until after becoming friends and we exchanged life stories that I realized I should’ve watched more Nickelodeon growing up. We had great chemistry with each other and it was easy to connect emotionally with our roles. It really does look like we’ve been friends forever on screen.
Kode | Any other projects we should be expecting soon?
Pierson | Well you can watch me now on Bold and Beautiful! I have another film coming up, “Cardinal X”, that takes place in the 80s and is essentially the directors bio pic. It follows her experience in the drug industry and how she got through college and eventually her ultimate demise. I play the role of Alex, who is an Olympic swimmer and introduces the main character to drugs and ultimately her downwards spiral. I can’t wait for this one, it’s dark and a very different character I was able to play in a story that’s a good warning for so many.
